The Geneva School of Boerne softball team played two games early this week and split the two after the Eagles defeated New Braunfels Christian, 18-3, and lost to S.A. Christian, 18-8.
Geneva is 3-4 overall (2-3 in district) and visited Schertz John Paul II Thursday as they continued league action.
Vs. NB Christian
Of the two games played, this one was more important because it was a district contest.
The Eagles knocked out 14 hits and picked up 14 RBI in the 18-3 win. After scoring 7 in the first and 2 in the second, Geneva closed it out with 10 runs in the third inning.
Lila Fleming tripled and singled and drove in 3 runs, while Ruby Svendsen tripled and singled, picked up 2 RBI and scored a run.
Sydney Schaefer doubled and singled, knocked in 2 runs and scored 3 runs, Gracyn Miller doubled, walked, collected 2 RBI and scored twice, Carlyle Harden hit 2 singles, scored 2 runs and pushed in 2 runs, Kendall Sehlke singled, had an RBI and scored 3 runs, Hayes Harden scored twice and Reese Smith picked up 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.
Fleming won the game on 66 pitches and scattered 6 hits, gave up 2 earned runs, 2 walks and fanned 6.
Vs. SACS
After scoring a run in the first, Geneva tallied 7 runs in the fourth inning against S.A. Christian, but the Lions were more consistent and record offensive innings of 3, 5, 5, and 5 to get the 18-8 win in five innings.
Both teams finished with 10 hits and Gracyn Miller homered for the Eagles and picked up 3 RBI, Carlyle Harden doubled, singled and drove in 2 runs, Hayes Harden doubled and scored, and Kendall Sehlke doubled and pushed in a run.
Caroline Lutz hit 2 singles, scored 2 runs and picked up an RBI, Ruby Svendsen singled and scored, while Lila Fleming singled and scored.
Maya Thomson tossed 2 innings and struck out 2 batters, while Fleming went 3 innings in the circle.
