Deer drop softball game to Ingram Moore

Comfort High visited Ingram Moore for a district softball game on Tuesday and fell to the Lady Warriors, 16-5, in four and a half innings.

The Deer dropped to 1-5 in district (12-15 overall) and closed out their series with the Warriors Thursday at home. They’ll play Brady this coming week and still have a series with Blanco left on the schedule.

Comfort had a good inning on Tuesday and scored 4 runs in the second and were up 4-1, but Ingram answered with 6 runs in the bottom half of the inning and retook the lead, 7-4.

The Warriors kept their foot on the gas pedal from there and tallied 3 runs in the third and 6 more in the fourth to reach 16, while Comfort scored one more run in the fourth.

Even though it was a run rule defeat, the Deer outhit the Warriors, 7-5, and recorded three doubles.

Ella Thiele, McKenzie Pankratz and Paige Werner all doubled, while Thiele also singled and drove in 4 runs, Pankratz also singled and scored 2 runs and Werner scored once.

Bliss Neal singled and scored, Moorea Davis singled and Anna Munoz scored a run.

Esme Camacho pitched 3 innings and gave up 4 hits and Werner tossed an inning and yielded a hit and struck out a batter.
