Comfort softball squad falls to Lady Warriors

Comfort High closed out its softball series with ingram Moore last Thursday and fell to the Lady Warriors in three innings, 21-0.

The Deer dropped to 1-6 in district (12-16 overall) and hosted Brady on Tuesday. They’ll play a series with Blanco next week and will host the Lady Panthers on April 14 and travel to Blanco on April 17.

Hits were hard to come by for Comfort in Thursday’s game at home, and the Deer only finished with one base knock in three innings. Taygan Rust accounted for the team’s only hit, a double off Ingram pitcher Kylie Traub, who only walked one batter. Anna Munoz took that walk and was Comfort’s only other base runner in the game.

Comfort made contact with the ball since they only struck out once, but the Ingram defense was able to record outs in the field.

Esme Camacho and Paige Werner both threw in the game for the Deer. Camacho tossed an inning and walked two batters, while Werner pitched in the final two frames and struck out a batter and walked two.
