The Geneva School of Boerne softball team played three games last week and won two of them.
Two of those contests were district games and the Eagles went 1-1, while picking up a non-district win as well.
Geneva tangled with Corpus Christi Incarnate Word on Monday at home and dropped that contest, 8-3, but defeated the Texas Crusaders in a non-district game on Tuesday, 13-0.
Also last week, the Eagles visited New Braunfels Christian Academy and won that contest last Friday, 11-8.
Geneva is 3-6 in district (5-7 overall) and still has CC John Paul II on the schedule.
Vs. CC Incarnate Word
Geneva outhit Incarnate Word, 8-5, but was outscored, 8-3. IWA scored a run in first, added 3 in the fourth and pushed in 4 more runs in the fifth for the 8-0 lead.
To the Eagles’ credit, they finished strong and scored runs in the final three innings to avoid the run rule.
Reese Smith hit 3 singles and scored once, Carlyle Harden singled, scored and picked up an RBI, while Gracyn Miller, Sydney Schaefer, Megan Egli and Ruby Svendsen all singled, while Schaefer picked up an RBI and Lilly Jones scored a run.
Lila Fleming went all 7 innings in the circle and scattered 5 hits, gave up 3 earned runs, 6 walks and struck out 5.
Vs. Texas Crusaders
Geneva recorded 17 hits in their 13-0 win in 4.5 innings.
The Eagles knocked out 5 triples in the game, 2 from the bat of Gracyn Miller, who also singled, drove in 3 runs and scored twice.
Carlyle Harden tripled, singled, drove in 2 runs and scored 3 runs, Kendall Sehlke tripled, picked up an RBI and scored a run and Lila Fleming tripled and singled and had 2 RBI.
Carolyn Lutz knocked out 3 singles, Sydney Schaefer had 2 hits and collected 3 RBI and Ruby Svendsen plated 2 runs.
Fleming gave up 3 hits, no runs, 3 walks and struck out 9 batters.
Vs. NB Christian
Friday’s game was tied 4-4 and both teams had big innings in the sixth, but Geneva’s was bigger after they tallied 7 runs and the Wildcats only scored 4.
Sydney Schaefer had a big hit in the sixth and cleared the bases with a double to bring in 3 of their 7 runs. Schafer also hit 2 singles, finished with 5 RBI and a run scored.
Gracyn Miller had 2 hits and scored twice, Maya Thomson also knocked out 2 singles and Carlyle Harden doubled and singled, drove in 4 runs and scored twice, while Reese Smith plated 2 runs.
Thomson went all 7 innings in the circle to pick up the win and gave up 7 hits, only 1 earned run, 7 walks and she struck out 2.
