DAR chapter awards scholarships, ‘Good Citizen’ awards

BOERNE — The local chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honored four Kendall County area high school seniors as DAR Good Citizens at its spring Chapter meeting.

Geneva School of Boerne’s Good Citizen, Mary Elizabeth Simpson, received the first-place scholarship which includes the GWK Community Service Award in the amount of $1,500.

Comfort High School’s Good Citizen, Kaydence Marie Stehling, received a GWK scholarship in the amount of $1,250.

Samuel V. Champion High School’s Good Citizen, Robert Ethan Conrad, received a GWK scholarship in the amount of $1,250. Boerne High School’s Good Citizen, Sydney Lane Smith, received a GWK scholarship in the amount of $1,250.

The DAR Good Citizen Award encourages and recognizes the qualities of good citizenship. It honors high school seniors who demonstrate dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.

Each student is selected by their school for exemplifying these qualities to an outstanding degree. Award recipients receive a certificate, pin, and a wallet identification card.

These students truly shine as examples of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism, and represent the very best of our community’s future.

The George W. Kendall Chapter NSDAR 2025-26 DAR Good Citizen awards and scholarships were presented at a special luncheon at St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne.
