The track and field season continues for five Geneva School of Boerne athletes after they qualified for the TAPPS state meet after their performances at the regional 4A meet held in San Antonio.

The TAPPS state meet is scheduled for this weekend in Hewitt near Waco. The top four at regionals will compete at state.

Geneva state qualifiers are Brady Chandler, Walter Teague, Peyton Eiland, Mikhail Boespflug and Ruby Svendsen after they all punched their ticket to state in several events.

Varsity Boys

In the final team standings, the Geneva boys were sixth with 48 points where at least 18 teams scored a point. Holy Cross won the regional title with 130 points.

Brady Chandler advanced to state in three events after he won the pole vault after clearing 15-0. Chandler also placed second in the 100 with a time of 11.39 and was third in the long jump with a leap of 20-2.75.

Walter Teague also won a regional title after placing first in the high jump by clearing 6-0 to set a personal record. Teague’s jump places him third all-time at the school in that event.

Mikhail Boespflug qualified in the discus with a toss of 128-3 for fourth and Tripp Martin earned team points in the discus as well with a throw of 125-8 for sixth.

Geneva’s 4x100 relay of Shae McNew, Harris Priesmeyer, Caleb Quitadamo and Chandler teamed up for sixth by recording a 44.96.

Varsity Girls

In the final team standings, the Geneva girls were 12th out of 18 teams with 27 points. New Braunfels Christian won the region with 146 points.

Peyton Eiland and Ruby Svendsen both advance to state in two different events.

Eiland finished third in the 3200 with a 12:47.67 and was third in the 1600 after posting a 5:47.40 to set a new PR in the 1600.

Svendsen placed fourth in the high jump after clearing 4-8 and she clocked in at 17.12 in the 100 hurdles for fourth.

Gracyn Miller finished seventh in the shot put with a toss of 29-9, while Maebry Caufield earned team points in two events after she was seventh in the triple jump by recording a 31-7 and came in eighth in the 200 with a time of 28.46.

The top eight places in TAPPS earn team points.
