AUSTIN - Boerne High's Presley Merkens captured silver at the 5A state track and field meet Friday on the UT campus.
The freshman posted a time of 2:11.99 to break the school record she set at regionals two weeks ago.

Comfort High
Comfort's Carter Pape earned silver at the 3A state track and field meet in the long jump with a leap of 23-11.25 for 2nd place.
Comfort's other athlete at state, Molly Gowan tied for 6th in the high jump after she cleared 5-2.
It's Comfort's first state medal since 2004.
Boerne ISD athletes will compete at state on Friday.
