Summer learning odyssey: Unearth a story

Summer learning odyssey: Unearth a story
“A Great Many Faces Have Seen the Beauty of This Land,” by Isaac Grigar.

THE BOOKWORM

I am sure most of you have heard that this summer is going to be amazing, both new and old programs coming back to the library as well as some super special animal visitors.

One thing we would like to highlight is a special oral history program working with the PHPL Outreach Team to “Unearth Your Story.”

Join us at one of the following locations to record a brief oral history to dig up what makes Boerne special, to you, and for you. And afterward, as a fun bonus, enjoy exploring our new digs: The Book Mobile June 3 – The Kronkosky Center at 10 a.m.

June 17– The Terraces at Cibolo at 10 a.m.

July 1 – The Kronkosky Center at 10 a.m.

July 15– Menger Springs at 10 a.m.

We are also excited to announce TWO new exhibits coming to the library.

• Cave Without a Name: A Journey Beneath the Texas Hill Country, June 1-30.

• America 250, July 1-31.

Make sure to check out our summer calendars, both online and in print formats, to keep up to date with and “Unearth Your Summer.”

No Blank Canvas exhibit: ‘Their Absence is Our Presence’ Our first No Blank Canvas art exhibit went amazing, Isaac Grigar, our 2026 artist, impressed staff and patrons alike with his amazing art pieces, capturing the nuance of what it means to be living in Boerne.

While the exhibit ends here at the Patrick Heath Public Library, you might still be able to catch it at a future gallery exhibit soon, so keep a look out.

Want to learn Isaac’s technique in combining art and history? Join him for a workshop on June 5 at the Hill Country Council of the Arts. RSVP on the HCCA website.
