Comfort High’s Mason Matt capped a great senior season on the baseball field and was named a first-team All-State shortstop by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Matt batted .567 and finished with a slugging percentage of 1.022. He hit three home runs, 11 triples, 10 doubles and took 31 walks, while only striking out seven times all season. The recent Comfort graduate scored 68 runs and stole 45 bases on 45 attempts.
Matt fielded .930 from the shortstop position and was a unanimous District 5-3A MVP, while helping to guide the Bobcats to their first district title since 2019.
