Perkkio hired as new Comfort softball coach

Comfort High has hired Alexia Perkkio as its new head softball coach.

Perkkio just worked at the Comfort ISD softball camp and will coach the Deer team in the spring and will assist with volleyball in the fall. In the classroom, she’ll teach math.

Originally from Caldwell, Perkkio is a graduate of Howard Payne University where she played softball. Most recently she was at Early where she coached volleyball and track and was the Texas High School Coaches Association Assistant Track Coach of the Year.

She replaces Andrew Hershey.
