Boerne Little League team wins state, advances to regionals

The Boerne Little League baseball team won the Texas West state championship last weekend and is headed to the regional round.

Boerne will play other state champions at regionals and the winner of that tournament, scheduled to begin Aug. 6 in Waco, advances to this year's Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

I played on the 1957 La Mesa Little League team that played Mexico in the LL World Series game. We lost to a great pitcher.

I was on the La Mesa little league team in 1957, and we lost to Monterey Mexico. Their pitcher was great.
