Lunsford leaves longtime Geneva post

BOERNE — After 20 years of service to Geneva School of Boerne, Advancement Director Libby Lunsford has retired.

Lunsford joined the Geneva community in 2004 and served in a variety of roles: parent of three Geneva graduates, volunteer, athletics communicator, communications coordinator, yearbook adviser, communications director and advancement director.

Justin Ellis has been chosen as her replacement. As an independent contractor, Ellis has served as the school’s graphic designer and photography team leader since 2024.

Ellis will serve in this senior leadership position leading admissions, communications, development and enrollment.

“Although most people know me for my camera, my more comprehensive background is in communications and branding,” Ellis said. “Practically speaking, I have been helping organizations identify themselves and pursue their calling. Over my time at Geneva, I’ve fallen in love with the mission and the community. I am humbled to get to serve it in this way.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Justin to be a member of the Admin Team and lead the advancement team,” Lunsford said. “We believe God has brought him to lead at this specific time. I have been praying for my replacement for the last few years, and Justin is just the right person to take on this role.”
