The Boerne High water polo varsity teams kicked off its 2026 fall season last week with matches at home against visiting O’Connor on Thursday and against New Braunfels Canyon on Saturday.
Although a few scrimmages have been held there, Thursday’s match was the first regular-season contest held at the newly constructed Boerne ISD Aquatics and Learning Center.
O’Connor ended up sweeping on Thursday after the Panthers’ boys and girls teams won both matches. The Lady Panthers beat Boerne, 14-7, and then in boys action, the Panthers prevailed 18-7.
Against Canyon, the Lady Greyhounds picked up their first victory of the year with a 9-8 win over the Cougars, while the Boerne boys fell to the Cougars, 17-7.
The Boerne boys start the year at 0-2 and the Lady Greyhounds are 1-1.
Both BHS squads are scheduled to play Friday against Johnson at Davis Natatorium.
