WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA - Ohio (Great Lakes) beat Boerne Little League (Southwest) Monday in Williamsport, 6-1, to eliminate Boerne from the Little League World Series.
Boerne was knocked out after dropping its first two games in Williamsport.
Great Lakes pushed in a run in the first and never trailed from there. They added two more in the second, two in the fourth and then knocked in an insurance run in the sixth for the 6-0 lead.
Boerne showed fight and went down swinging. Merritt Cude reached and later scored on a Carson Patrick RBI for its only run in the bottom of the sixth. The next batter was retired to end it.
Boerne stranded 11 batters and outhit Ohio 6-5 but the timely hit escaped them.
It was a great year for the Boerne program that was making its second trip to the Little League World Series after the 2024 squad also did the same thing.
