The Lady Charger volleyball team played a match at home – finally.
Champion was home on Tuesday to host Clark and it was their first match on their home court because of work that was done on the Charger gym floor.
The Chargers took to their shiny new floor and defeated the Lady Cougars in four sets, 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 25-23.
Champion is 12-3 overall and has won seven straight heading into this weekend’s Seguin tournament. The Chargers opened with TMI – Episcopal, Stockdale and Long Creek.
Chargers coach Kelly McDaniel said it was great to break in the new floor with a win.
“It was so exciting to be back in our gym and to show off the new court. It felt so dynamic with all the people in there to support us and we could feel the excitement,” she said. “The win was icing on top of the cake. We’ve had a competitive preseason and I think that’s preparing us so well for the rest of this season.”
