Boerne High hosted Laredo United for its home opener Friday at BISD Stadium and held off the Longhorns to stay unbeaten at 2-0.
Greyhounds quarterback Grant Sweeney ran for the go-ahead score to make it 41-34 and then the BHS defense intercepted a Longhorns pass deep in Boerne territory to preserve the 41-34 victory.
BHS travels to Davenport Friday as they continue non-district.
Geneva School of Boerne
Geneva 49, TMI 42
Eagles coach Adam Foren expected a fourth-quarter game from the visiting TMI - Panthers and that's exactly what he got as the Eagles held off their neighbors from down the highway, 49-42.
Geneva improves to 3-0 and visits Shiner St. Paul on Friday.
Comfort High
Crystal City 35, Comfort 23
The Bobcats were on the road Friday and visited Crystal City, home of the Popeye statue and the spinach capital of Texas.
Apparently the Javelinas ate their spinach because they finished strong by scoring the final three touchdowns of the game to record the 35-23 win over Comfort.
The Bobcats were up 23-13 at the end of the third quarter but two touchdown runs by the Javelinas, followed by an interception returned for a touchdown helped Crystal City complete the comeback.
Comfort (1-1) is home Friday against Ingram for homecoming.

Boerne Champion
Champion 62, Long Creek 14
For the second week in a row, the Boerne Champion football team has hit the 60-point plateau after the Chargers defeated New Braunfels Long Creek 62-14 Thursday in their home opener at Boerne ISD Stadium.
Champion was coming off a 60-7 win the previous week against Laredo United South and stands at 2-0 as they close out non-district play. The Chargers open district action Friday at home against Bastrop Cedar Creek.
