The Boerne High water polo teams were in action last Saturday against Marshall and Clark and both Greyhound teams beat Marshall and fell to the Cougars.
BHS played Champion on Thursday and will continue district action against Brandeis and Health Careers in district matches on Sept. 26.
Varsity Boys
The BHS boys split their two matches on Saturday after they beat Marshall, 18-3, and lost to Clark, 22-9.
BHS is 1-9 overall and 1-5 in district and tangled with Champion on Thursday.
The Greyhounds were up 8-0 on Marshall in the first quarter and scored 6 more goals in the second for the 14-0 halftime lead. Boerne won the second half as well, 4-3.
A total of 11 different players scored for the Hounds, and they were led by Zachary Pyle and Lucas Macias, who both knocked in 3 goals apiece. Henry Marcell and Leonardo Nunez tallied 2 goals each, while eight others had one goal apiece.
Eliot Brown came up with 6 assists and Parker Smith picked up 3 assists, while Nunez came up with 6 steals. Dustin Farar and Smith were in goal for the Greyhounds.
Clark was up 8-3 in the first quarter and outscored BHS in the second, 6-3, for the 14-6 lead and outscored the Hounds in the second half, 8-3.
Jack Smith and Parker Smith both knocked in 3 goals, Leonardo Nunez finished with 4 assists and Eliot Brown came up with 4 steals.
Dustin Farar was in goal for BHS.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Hounds defeated Marshall, 15-3, and fell to Clark, 13-5, to stand 3-7 overall and 2-4 in district.
Against Marshall, Boerne was up at halftime, 7-1, and then outscored the Mules in the second half, 8-2.
Bonnie Johnson netted 5 goals, Makenna Henson and Ashlyn Jendrusch both scored twice, while six others knocked in one goal each.
Jendrusch had 4 assists, Johnson finished with 3 assists and Kennedy Appel recorded 3 assists, while Johnson came up with 8 steals and Jendrusch had 6 steals.
Carly Robertson and Brooke Sachs were both in goal for Boerne.
The Hounds came up with 5 goals against Clark and recorded 3 of them in the fourth quarter.
Bonnie Johnson tallied 3 goals, Makenna Henson had 2 goals and Michelle Mendoza added 1 goal, while Ashlyn Jendrusch came up with 5 steals.
Carly Robertson and Brooke Sachs were both in goal for Boerne.
