Chargers run at SAISD XC Invitational No.

Boerne Champion rested some varsity cross country runners last week at the SAISD XC Invitational No. 2 last Saturday at Brooks-City Base but still managed to sweep both varsity races.

The Chargers are at the HOKA McNeil Invitational in Round Rock this weekend.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Chargers almost ran a perfect race and took spots 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 to score 22 points for first place at last Saturday’s meet in field of only five teams and 72 runners.

Luviana Zazueta Ibarra posted a 20:18 for second in adjusted scoring, Abigail Alger ran a 21:14 for third, Ellis Conroy was fourth in 21:16, Peyton Salazar came in sixth in 21:21 and Elena Duran finished in 21:22 for seventh.

Kyrie Hollinger completed the course in a time of 22:01 for 10th and Catherine Whitman was 17th in 23:16.

Varsity Boys

The Chargers beat Jefferson by a point and won the race with 57 points, while the Mustangs tallied 58 points for second and East Central came in third with 65 points in the field of 14 teams and 99 runners.

Abhiram Bhogireddy placed seventh for the Chargers with a time of 17:28, Luke Longson recorded a 17:40 for ninth, Hector Canales was 10th in 17:42, Taylor Lefler finished one spot back in 11th, Colin Gibbs posted an 18:02 for 20th, Pierce Mitchell was one spot back in 21st with an 18:05 and Austin Ronemous rounded out the team after running an 18:53 for 33rd.
