Geneva volleyball wins last three matches

The Eagles volleyball team has been on a roll lately and won their last three matches. They played a couple of non-district volleyball matches on the road to close out last week and won both after they defeated Hill Country Christian and Jourdanton.

Geneva opened district play Tuesday against Castle Hills and won in straight sets, although two of the sets were close. The Eagles defeated Castle Hills, 25-23, 25-11, 26-24 and improved to 17-13 overall and 1-0 in district.

Geneva was on the road Thursday for a league match with Corpus Christi John Paul II and will travel to Comfort on Friday for a non-district match.

Against Jourdanton, the Eagles won in four sets after dropping the first one, 25-22. They bounced back to win the next three, 25-22, 25-23, 25-12.

Against Hill Country Christian, the match went five sets before the Eagles prevailed after being down in games, 2-1. Geneva won, 28-30, 25-21, 21-25, 25-16, 15-13.
