It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Judge Frieda J. Pressler, at the age of 70, on Sept. 6, 2026. She was a truly remarkable woman who dedicated her life to serving the people of Kendall County.
Frieda Jane Pressler was born Nov. 17, 1955, in Kerrville, Texas, a daughter to the late Hugo Emil Pressler and Beaulah Mae Brown Pressler (Tiny).
For a lifetime, Judge Pressler answered the call to serve others. Her journey of service began in the early 1980s with Kendall County EMS. Through every role she held, she demons trated integrity, strength, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She embraced the responsibility that came with it. She cared deeply for the people she served, and her compassion, wisdom, kindness, and dedication touched countless lives throughout Kendall County.
While her professional accomplishments were many, her greatest joy and proudest legacy was her family.
She loved her family tremendously and was the heart that kept everyone connected. She was the most loving, caring, and supportive person. She was always there with an encouraging word, a helping hand, or simply a listening ear. She celebrated the milestones, remembered the important dates, and made sure no one felt forgotten.
Birthdays and anniversaries were never just another day. They were special because she made them special. Many family members will forever remember the familiar sound of the phone ringing and her voice on the other end, ready to sing “Happy Birthday”. It was one of the many little things she did that became treasured family traditions.
She was also a passionate advocate for the Brown and Pressler family reunions, making sure generations stayed connected and that the family continued to gather, celebrate, laugh, share memories, and create new ones. She understood the importance of family and worked tirelessly to keep those bonds strong.
Though her bench may be empty and her voice may be quiet, the love she gave, the lessons she taught, the traditions she created, and the lives she touched will continue through every generation. Her legacy will live on in the family she cherished, the community she faithfully served, and the countless people who were blessed to know her.
She spent her life answering the call to serve others. Now, may she rest knowing she answered that call well.
We rejoice in the promise of her faith— that this goodbye is not forever, but only until we meet again She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie Barron, Norman (Sunny-Boy) Barron, Brother- in- law, Robert Powell, and other beloved family members who welcomed her home.
Judge Pressler is survived by her sister, Patsy Powell, brothers, Donald Pressler (Kristie), Lynn Barron (Helen), niece Niki Bishop (Wesley), nephew Tye Pressler, great-nephews, Ryder and Case Bishop, the loves of her life. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas. Burial will follow in the Comfort Cemetery. Following the burial, family and friends are invited to gather for a meal and time of fellowship at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Comfort, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Golden Age Center, Comfort Volunteer Fire Department and St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements have been made by Schaetter Funeral Home, Kendall County Sheriff Department, Judge Pressler’s Court Clerks, Kristen Irvin and Stephanie Rust, and Constable Brian Vaughan.
