Feb. 23,1937 - Sept. 9, 2026 Berlee Ann McCoury passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, 2026, at her home in Boerne, Texas.
Berlee was born on Feb. 23, 1937, in Beaumont, Texas, to Leopold and Bernice (Pardue) Kuhn. She graduated from Baylor University with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Berlee married D.G. McCoury on June 28, 1958.
Berlee and D.G. were joined by their first son, John Mark, in 1960 and their second son, Paul Daaron, in 1963.
Berlee was a devoted pastor’s wife who was always ready to help others with a caring smile. She loved the Lord in a way that showed in her everyday life. Berlee was a hospice volunteer who made sure that her flower arrangements reached those who needed some joy.

See MCCOURY, page 7 her love which included notes, phone calls, texts and silly stories! She lifted each family member up in prayer every day.
Berlee is preceded in death by her son, Paul, and her parents, Bernice and Leo Kuhn.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, D.G. McCoury, and her son, John (Liz) McCoury. Berlee is also survived by her grandchildren and their families: Jessica, Matt and Dekota Reno, Abigail, Jeremiah, Warren, Joseph and Dorothea Root, and Tim, Gabbie and Orion McCoury.
Berlee taught a ladies’ Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Fredericksburg. She will be remembered as a loyal, kind, and sweet wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
The family plans to hold a private memorial.

Jessica Reno: My grandmother, affectionately known as “Mommy B,” was always ready with a joke and always up for an adventure. When I graduated from college in Georgia, she hiked with me all the way to the top of Stone Mountain! She also loved to bring joy to others, and spent years making beautiful flower arrangements for hospice patients. We are losing a beautiful smile and a teacher of how to live life to the fullest.
Abigail Root: Mommy B was a caring and supportive grandmother. From exciting trips to amusement parks, quiet walks through Fredericksburg, board games, and cooking lessons, she made countless memories throughout my childhood. She shared with us her love of flowers, animals and chocolates. She taught us the joy that comes from being in service to others. Mommy B had a sharp sense of humor and could make me laugh at the most surprising moments. She doted on her great-grandsons Warren and Joseph, and had a special place in her heart for Ballerina Dottie. We will all continue to love and appreciate her enormous influence on our lives.
Timothy McCoury: Mommy B was a beautiful, loving, caring, generous, thoughtful and loyal grandmother. She made delicious meals and kept smiles on our faces with her big personality and sense of humor. We miss her dearly and give thanks to God for sharing her with us.
