Boerne Champion won its third district volleyball match in a row after the Lady Chargers picked up a road win at South San last Friday.
Like in their other two 26-5A matches, Champion swept their opponent. The Chargers defeated South San, 25-11, 25-11, 25-15, and improved to 23-6 overall and 3-0 in league play.
Champion hosted McCollum Tuesday and plays Boerne High on Friday at Greyhound Gym, 6:30 p.m. The Chargers are home Tuesday, Sept. 29 to host Alamo Heights.
In last Friday’s match, Finley Weikle paced the team in kills with 10 and Addison Menden added 8 kills, while Abby Marizcurrena and Olivia Sansone both recorded 7 kills.
The Chargers dropped in 15 aces after Seyla Boothe finished with 6 aces, while Hannah Perez and Brady Cooksey both chipped in with 3 aces, Tessa McGowan had 2 aces and Hailey Pfahlert added an ace.
At least 13 players registered a dig in the game and Cooksey led the team with 8 of them, Perez added 7 digs and Brielle Boothe finished with 6 digs.
Cooksey tallied 27 assists and Pfahlert recorded 10 assists for the Chargers in last Friday’s game.
