The McCollum volleyball team had a strong start against Boerne High last Friday and won the first game against the Lady Greyhounds, but BHS got on track and took the last three sets to get the win.
Boerne won 13-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 to remain unbeaten at 3-0 in district. The Lady Greyhounds are 22-4 overall and hosted Alamo Heights Tuesday before welcoming cross-town rival Boerne Champion to Greyhound Gym on Friday for a 6:30 p.m. match.
In last Friday’s match, Bella Pettet finished with 15 kills, Ava Seamans added 10 kills and Brook Summers recorded 8 kills.
Pettet and Kiley Coffland both dropped in 4 aces and Seamans had 2 aces, while Pettet and Summers came up with 2 blocks each.
Coffland led the team in digs with 19, while Lauren Magnus was also in double digits in two different categories after she finished with 13 digs and tallied 40 assists. Mallory Miles registered 7 digs and Riley Caldwell added 6 digs in last Friday’s match.
