BHS races at Matador Invitational

Boerne High ran at the Matador XC Invitational on Saturday at Starcke Park in Seguin.

The Greyhounds will return to Seguin for the District 26-5A meet on Oct. 14.

Varsity Boys

The BHS boys finished 17th with 486 points. Churchill won the meet with 107 points, McKinney Boyd came in second at 127 and Lytle was third with 176 in the field of 26 teams and 184 runners.

Kyle Clark had Boerne’s best finish after he was 64th in a time of 17:36, Julian Wasel clocked in at 18:12 for 91st, Colin Bartonicek finished in 18:32 for 103rd, Joshua Reaves was 112th in 18:45, Levi Mendoza placed 116th in 18:48, Kevin Rogers recorded an 18:57 for 122nd and Stefan Bain turned in a 19:30 for 134th.

Also for the Hounds, William Olivo ran a 20:08, Hayden Heath registered a 20:15 and Jackson Elseroad posted a 20:32.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Greyhounds finished eighth with 195 points in the field of 18 teams and 156 runners.

Churchill made it a clean sweep and won the girls race as well with 59 points, while New Braunfels was second at 67 and Pieper took third at 140.

Presley Merkens placed in the top 10 after she was ninth with 19:27, Lucille Frank posted a 20:38 for 37th, Sutton Amerman finished three spots back in 40th with a 20:50, Ainsley Purcell posted a 20:10 for 54th, Michaela Reichenau completed the course in 21:17 for 55th, Abigail Jendrusch came in 75th with a time of 22:33 and Ansley Schiller was 80th in 22:44.
