Geneva competes at Schreiner, SACS XC meets

Geneva School of Boerne cross country teams competed in two meets over the past few weeks as they head down the stretch run of their season.

The Eagles were at the Shreiner Hill Country meet in Kerrville on Sept. 18 and raced at the San Antonio Christian Invitational held Sept. 27.

Geneva races again on Oct. 17 in Marble Falls at the Faith Academy Invitational. That’ll be their final tune up before the TAPPS state meet in Waco on Oct. 26.

Schreiner Invitational At the Shreiner meet, Peyton Eiland finished fourth in the JV Girls 2-mile run with a time of 13:34. Maggie Lutz came in 16th in 14:51 and Catalina Lozada posted a 16:03 for 37th.

In the boys varsity race, Evan Taylor finished 50th with a 20:01, Liam McClain was two spots back in 52nd at 20:20, Ryder Buckelew posted a 20:38 for 54th, Nico Nelson came in with a 21:03 for 56th, Quinn Malkowski finished in 21:20 for 58th, Lucas Lozada posted a 22:07 for 65th, Sam Miller ran a 22:51 for 66th, Billy Gerth completed the course in 24:14 and Crockett Srp recorded a 28:21 for the Eagles team that was ninth with 270 points.

SA Christian Invitational Peyton Eiland had another strong finish at the varsity girls two-mile run after she placed fifth with a 12:59, Maggie Lutz came in 30th in 14:48 and Catalina Lozada was 42nd in 15:59.

The Geneva boys were seventh in the varsity race with 181 points. Aaron Garza-Rivera was 30th in 20:06, Liam McClain was one spot back in 31st, Nico Nelson posted a 21:03 for 35th, Ryder Buckelew finished in 21:16 for 39th and Sam Miller ran a 22:19 for 46th.
