CELEBRATING THE ARTS
Daneshu Clarke was bom and raised in the Texas Hill Country. She and her husband, Jim, moved to Boerne in 1975. She retired from teaching secondary education in 2003 and retired from the United States Navy Reserves in 2002 after 23 years of service.
After her final retirement in 2009, and with a love for nature, she and her husband became Texas Master Naturalists. Her love for the outdoors and nature is prevalent in her art.
Daneshu started painting in 2015 and has not had any formal art education. Pastels were introduced to her in 2015 at art classes offered at the St. Benedictine Sisters Omega Center. She continues to paint in pastel, oil, watercolor and gouache.
You will find that most of her artwork reflects childhood memories and nature. She loves to share her work in shows, and derives the most pleasure from watching people look at her paintings.
Daneshu is a treasured member of the Die Kunstler von Fredericksburg, Hill Country Council of the Arts, Hill Country Arts Foundation, Kerrville Arts and Cultural Center, Boerne Art League and Boerne Visual Artists.
A selection of Daneshu’s paintings can be viewed during the month of October at the following Main Street locations: Liberty Capital Bank, Bank of America, Security State Bank, Jefferson Bank, Frost Bank, Broadway Bank, and The Center (Kronkosky Senior Center), 745 W. San Antonio St., Boerne.
