Both the Boerne ISD tennis teams opened the 2026 playoffs on Monday and won their first-round matches.
The Greyhounds defeated New Braunfels on Monday at the Newcombe Tennis Ranch, 10-4, and improved to 10-5 overall. Boerne plays the winner of the Medina Valley – Lanier match scheduled for Tuesday later in the week in the second round.
The Chargers sacked Mac, or MacArthur on Monday at the Blossom Tennis Center, 10-1. Champion improved to 16-2 overall and plays the winner of the Highlands and Eagle Pass Winn match up later this week in the second round.
If the Chargers and Greyhounds win their second-round matches, they’ll meet in the third round for the third straight season. BHS has won both those postseason matches.
