The Alamo Heights volleyball team did what no other team in the district has been able to do so far, and that is to defeat Boerne High.
BHS visited the Mule Dome on Friday and fell to host Alamo Heights in five sets, 23-25, 26-24, 16-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Boerne’s loss also created a logjam atop the 26-5A standings, with the Greyhounds at 9-1, Champion at 9-1 and Alamo Heights at 9-2 going into Tuesday.
The picture will be clearer by Friday since Champion hosted Boerne on Tuesday, while the Chargers visit Alamo Heights on Friday and BHS hosts John Jay.
Boerne (28-5) was up 2-1 after three sets last Friday against the Mules (29-12), but AH won the last two sets to defeat the Greyhounds. It’s their first loss since Sept. 4 when they fell to Churchill.
