Protecting your parents from undue influence

It’s an unfortunate fact that predators emerge during times of upheaval to take advantage of people. There is a chronic problem of financial exploitation with all of us at risk, and most vulnerably the elderly.

The internet predators are greater and cleverer than ever and remember that the social security administration never makes phone calls.

Your elderly parents may live several hours away, or in another state, and someone in their community gets close to them. Or maybe they have a close relationship with a financial advisor. This person could even be another family member, friend, business partner, hired caregiver, professional advisor, or someone they’ve just met.
