The Bobcat basketball team hosted Florence Friday night and came away with a 34-point victory.
With the win, the Cats improved to 18-11 overall and 4-3 in District 5-3A play. They were at Ingram Tuesday.
Prior to Friday’s game at Florence, Comfort played Blanco last Tuesday.
Vs. Florence
Comfort hit in double digits all four quarters, while the Buffs were stuffed and held to single digits at the same time to give CHS the 64-30 win.
The Cats tallied 15, 20, 15 and 14 points, while Florence was held to 9, 9, 4 and 8.
Jaydin Steward led the Bobcats with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 7 steals, while Jared Valadez and Joel Lozano tallied 10 points apiece.
Jovani Zapata added 8 points and 6 assists, Jackson Dear had 7 points, Aidan Schwarz and Santos Hernandez scored 5 each and Daniel Adams chipped in with 2 points.
Vs. Blanco
Blanco blew open a close with the Comfort boys after a strong third quarter for the 46-33 victory.
Blanco was up 9-7 and took one-point lead into halftime at 17-16 after Comfort won the second period by a point, 9-8.
Blanco heated up in the third and tallied 21 points and outscored the Bobcats, 21-10, for the double-digit lead at 38-26 and never looked back.
Blanco won the game by 13 points after they outscored the Cats by 11 points in the third.
Jaydin Steward scored almost half of Comfort’s points after he tallied 14 points, while Jared Valadez and Jackson Dear both netted 6, Joel Lozano had 3 and Terick Rodriguez and Jovani Zapata dropped in 2 points apiece.
Steward made it a double- double with 13 rebounds, Zapata recorded 3 assists and Lozano came up with 3 steals.
