Greyhound water polo teams in tournament action

The Boerne High water polo teams played their first matches in school history last weekend at the Mule Kickoff tournament in San Antonio.

BHS is starting their boys and girls programs this year from scratch under the direction of Greyhound graduate Brandon Cheves.

Neither team won a game at the tourney, but Cheves said the effort was there and there were some bright spots for both teams.

The Boerne girls played Alamo Heights, Klein Collins, Cedar Ridge, Round Rock and Bridgeland but weren’t able to win a game.

The BHS boys tangled with the same five teams – Alamo Heights, Klein Collins, Cedar Ridge, Round Rock and Bridgeland – and dropped all five matches as well as they build their program from the ground up.
