Geneva girls resume district play vs. CC JP II

After hosting a tournament on Dec. 30-31, the Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team returned to district play last Friday.

The Eagles hosted Corpus Christi John Paul II and picked up a 68-20 victory over the Lady Centurions.

Geneva bumps its overall record to 18-4 overall and is 4-0 in district.

The Eagles were at Corpus Christi Incarnate Word Tuesday and then won’t play again until Jan. 14, when they host Castle Hills in a district contest.

Kyra Petty had a big game for the Eagles last Friday and scored 25 points to reach the 1,000-point milestone for her career.

Maegan Riebel finished with 18 points and Grace Detterick added 11 as three Eagles finished in double figures.

Madeline Egbert scored 9 and Morgan Howard finished with 5 points and 9 rebounds.

Detterick grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked 7 shots, while Riebel had 7 boards to go with 5 assists and 5 steals.
