Boerne Books & Arts Festival features large lineup

In case you tuned in today expecting to read an article from Miss Constance, our children’s librarian… she has graciously given this spot to me so we can promote the Boerne Book & Arts Festival. And in the spirit of children’s literature, today I’ll talk about the great lineup we have for kids and families at this year’s book festival.

Dr. Carmen Tafolla is a poet, storyteller, performance artist, motivational speaker and university professor. She has served as both San Antonio Poet Laureate and Texas Poet Laureate. On Saturday, Oct. 1, she’ll be performing from some of her children’s books at the Boerne Book & Arts Festival. Stop by the entertainment stage at 12:15 p.m. at Main Plaza to meet the author. Some of her most recent children’s book titles are “I’ll Always Come Back to You,” and “What Can You Do with a Paleta?” We’ll be giving away paletas to the first 100 kids to show up to Carmen’s program. The author will be signing her fabulous children’s books after this program.

Chris Mullen from Richmond, Texas, is becoming well known for his western novels for the young adult audience. These books are packed with adventure, and Chris will be performing on the entertainment stage at the book festival at 1:45 p.m. There are three books in the “Rowdy” series by Chris Mullen. Chris will stick around after his performance to sign copies of his books.
