The Boerne Sunrise Rotary recently installed new officers and committee chairs for 2022-23. “We are really excited about the year ahead as we live up to our motto, the people of action,” club President Rich Sena said. Club members recently awarded seven college scholarships to local graduates and in October will participate in Project Crayola with the Rotary clubs of Acuna, Mexico, to bring school supplies to Acuna students. The club also is providing funds to support the children in the Boerne Women’s Shelter. Upcoming fundraisers include a barbecue and raffle on Oct. 8 and a 5-K race on Labor Day. Service projects include “Stand by Me” at Daily Bread, medical equipment for the Eye Bank Hospital in Aguascalientes, Mexico, the worldwide projects of the Rotary Foundation, Hill Country Family Services and the children’s’ Christmas Party at the Shady Glen Mobile Home Park. The club meets at 7 a.m. On Tuesdays at the Hungry Horse Restaurant, 109 Saunders St. Pictured are, from left, new officers and chairmen Charles Wetherbee, Rotary Foundation; Caleb Clark and Kathy Budde, community service; Rich Sena, president; Cha Karulak, scholarships; Michael Glick, membership; Bob Felton, treasurer; and Bryce Karulak, president-elect.
