Mabel Louise ‘Mae’ Medlin

Mabel Louise “Mae” Milton Medlin, 82, of Boerne passed away Jan. 29, 2019. The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Holt & Holt Funeral Home in Boerne. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, , also at Holt & Holt Funeral Home, with committal to follow at Boerne Cemetery.

Mae was born on July 22, 1936, in Lyford, to Vardaman and Louise

Milton. After graduating from Lyford High School, she lived in different cities in the US, settling in Boerne with her husband Wayne in the early 1990s. She held various jobs, but she would tell everyone that her occupation was being a housewife, She enjoyed dancing, singing and shopping. She also loved the beach and to go fishing. Most importantly, Mae loved her family. Everyone who knew her would describe her as generous and loving. Mae is survived by her husband of 38 years, Wayne Medlin; her son Larry (Sabrina) Bell; her daughters Kay (Marshall) Hasson, Tammy (Eric) Nelson and Gina (Patrick) Kufrovich; three brothers; three sisters; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Vardaman and Louise Milton; her son Douglas Bell; two brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the many doctors, nurses and other staff within the Methodist Healthcare system in San Antonio and Boerne.

Because of the many family members and friends afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease and her wish to find a cure, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association instead of floral tributes.
