Margaret Lee “Peg” Brinton Jarmon, 92, died Friday, January 4, in Austin, after a long illness. She lived in Boerne with her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Jarmon, for more than 30 years. They had moved to Austin in spring 2018.

Peg and her family had deep roots in Boerne – her grandfather settled in Boerne around the turn of the 20th Century with his wife and two daughters. Peg herself attended elementary school for a year in Boerne.

Born in 1926 in Houston, Peg graduated from Lamar High School and the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in English. She also attended Rice Institute, now Rice University. She received a master of liberal arts from Southern Methodist University.

Peg enjoyed creating art. She worked in media that included ceramics, watercolors, and stained glass. She was a member of Kendall County Area Democratic Women, now Boerne Area D e m - ocrats. She loved exercise and participated in a tai chi class in Boerne for many years.

Peg is survived by her husband of 69 years, children Betsy Simnacher of Cedar Hill, Texas; Tom Jarmon of Boulder, Colo., and David Jarmon of Los Altos, Calif. Daughter Carol Ann Lozano died in 2012. Grandchildren include Ben Simnacher of Los Altos, Calif.; Jeff Simnacher of Grand Prairie, Texas; Andrew Jarmon of Queens, New York; Christopher Jarmon of Denver; Xochitl Lozano of Boston; and Kai Jarmon of Austin.

Services for Mr s. Jarmon will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Cook Walden Capital Parks funeral home, 14501 North I-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
