Texas State Rep. Kyle Biedermann and State Sen. Donna Campbell recognized two long-time Boerne businesses on Tuesday afternoon by presenting each with a Texas Treasure Business Award. The Boerne Star and Kendall County Abstract Title Co. received the awards, courtesy of the Texas Historic Commission. They are the seventh and eighth county businesses to be recognized. The award pays tribute to businesses that have provided employment opportunities and support to the state’s economy for 50 years or more. Created in 2005 through legislation, the program recognizes well-established Texas businesses and their exceptional historical contributions to the state’s economic growth and prosperity. Both businesses have been in operation for more than 100 years. Biedermann attended both ceremonies as did Kelly Follis, who represented Campbell.
