Since opening its doors in April 2012, KCWS has provided over 45,000 nights of service and served 1,279 women victims of domestic violence – and not just those from outside Boerne.
“As our community continues to grow, we see more and more of our services accessed by community members. One in three women at some point in their lives are a victim of domestic violence, so statistically there no way it doesn’t affect us,” Allen said. “We’re blessed to be here in Boerne, but we have the same things going on that every community has. We’re still affected by domestic violence.”
