The Boerne Police Department continues to investigate a string of vehicle burglaries that took place late last month.
On Oct. 28, officers responded to 16 separate reports in the Herff Ranch, Woods of Boerne and Woods of Frederick Creek subdivisions. The incidents occurred overnight on Sunday, Oct. 27, into the early hours of Monday, Oct. 28.
Information from the city states the vehicles reported burglarized were all unlocked, and eight had items removed from inside. Items reported missing included wallets, purses and loose change.
The Boerne Police Department reminds citizens that as the holiday season approaches to hide or take valuables out of vehicles and make sure doors are locked. Also, it stated it is a good idea to compile a list of serial numbers on any valuables. This is sometimes the only lead detectives may have in recovering stolen items and locating suspects involved.
“If you leave valuables in your car, and you leave your car unlocked, you might as well kiss your stuff goodbye,” Boerne Communications Director Pamela Bransford said.
Since the investigation is ongoing, no other information was released by Boerne police.
