The Patrick Heath Public Library welcomed Dwight and his owner, Marty Chapman, left above, for a special PAWS for Reading event this past Saturday as children had the opportunity to read and share a story with a trained therapy dog. Recent studies have shown the enormous benefits of sharing a book with a dog as children gain confidence in their reading and oratory skills by doing so. The library plans to host the event monthly.
