David was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Edna Hemby; wife Dorothy; sister and brother-in-law Fred and Mabel O'Bryant; and great-granddaughter Avery Maloy Bailey. David is survived by his brother-in-law, Richard Ingle; nieces and nephews Laura "Susie" O'Bryant, John R. Green III and Lisa (Green) Simpkins and Tammy and Terry Whetstone. David is also survived by Juanita McWhorter, a longtime friend and close companion.

A visitation with the family will take place Saturday, September 25, 2021, starting at 12 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel, Stockdale, Texas.
