Several fire departments worked together to get a fire under control Thursday morning, which destroyed a Cordillera Ranch home and left little behind.
Information from the Bergheim Volunteer Fire Department, which was the first department to respond to the call, stated no injuries were reported at the scene. However, all but the garage and the two vehicles it housed burned to the ground Friday morning. A representative with Bergheim VFD said units arrived on the scene at about 6 a.m. Thursday morning and began their efforts to contain the flames.
The cause of the fire had not been fully determined as of The Star’s Tuesday press deadline, but the home was considered a total loss. The fire was contained to the single property in the 10 block of Northern Bear Street and did not spread to any neighboring residences.
