Sharon J. Mazurek, born July 4, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away at her home in Boerne, Texas, on Nov. 4, 2023, at the age of 85.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fabian Mazurek, son, Clifford Painter; and siblings Sandra Knapp, Roslyn Hickey, Gary Shew and Terry Shew.

Sharon is survived by her children, Martha (Glen) Miller, Dr. James (Irma) Flores, Vicki (Bob) Van Allen, Karen (Dan) Ferraro, Douglas Flores (Greg Perez), Lottie (Mark) Leyva, and Earnest Painter (Barry Perez); and sister, Diane McCarroll. She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Sharon was a retired librarian from the Patrick Heath Public Library in Boerne. Her favorite hobbies were reading, gardening, and fishing, but most of all her heart was with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was known for her quiet strength and her undeniable care for others. She was active in her church when she was able and known as a “prayer warrior” to many.

She will be deeply missed by her family, colleagues and countless friends who were touched by her kindness, understanding and compassion.
