Five teenagers were behind bars Monday morning after an apparent stolen getaway vehicle failed its mission and the driver crashed into the rear passenger side of a patrol vehicle.
Information from the Boerne Police Department indicates a 14-year-old, a 15-year-old and three 17-year-olds were arrested after more than a dozen vehicles were burglarized in the early hours Monday morning.
Three of the teenagers were apprehended shortly after the first 911 call came in at 3:30 a.m. when they crashed a stolen white Mercedes Benz into the back of a patrol vehicle, information stated. An initial report indicated two suspects remained at large. However, the two at-large teenagers were apprehended by 7:30 a.m. They were found on foot less than a mile from where their alleged partners in crime were caught.
