The Texas Department of Transportation announced Friday afternoon that the Phase II portion of the Highway 46-Interstate 10 Kendall Extension project is being postponed because of weather forecasts.
The second phase of the project was supposed to begin Sunday morning and last six weeks.
There was no reschedule date with the announcement, but TxDOT stated information will be shared as it becomes available.
When Phase II gets underway, TxDOT has stated the eastbound I-10 frontage road at Highway 46 will be closed as the Kendall Extension project progresses. The closures are required to facilitate the completion of the new six-lane bridge at Highway 46 and I-10. Other road closures
and detours are part of this phase of the project.
The National Weather Service states there is a slight chance of rain on Sunday night with chances increasing on Monday and Tuesday from 20 to 50 percent.
