    Local veterans and their families gathered Monday night for an ecumenical Veterans Day ceremony at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne. Above top: During the tribute, the Missing Man ritual was observed to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action. Retired Air Force Lt. Col.     The Boerne VFW Post 688 conducted a Veterans Day ceremony Monday morning at Veterans Park and recognized all military personnel who have served. World War II and Korean War veteran Guy Chipman Jr., above, who turned 100 years old earlier this year, was presented with a special gift during the event when VFW Chaplain Scott Galliardt gave him a miniature replica M-24 Chaffee tank. Chipman led an armored tank division in Germany during the latter stages of World War II.
