Andrew Joseph Hix

August 13, 1950 – August 20, 2021

Andrew (Andy) Joseph Hix passed away on August 20, 2021. He was born on August 13, 1950, to Herschel Wayne Hix and Delores Deas Davis in McAllen, Texas. He grew up in Anchorage, Alaska; Lompoc, California; and Allendale, New Jersey, before settling in Richardson, Texas.  He then attended North Texas University where he met his wife, Martha. After graduating he obtained his juris doctorate from Baylor University Law School. 

Martha and Andy were married 46 years during which time they built a family, a life and a law practice. They had two children and three grandchildren. Andy enjoyed being a father and “G-Daddy.” From building a balance beam for his young gymnast daughter to baking boards for his son’s karate competition to building a custom pink and purple swing for his first granddaughter, Andy always tried to make his family’s dreams come true. He also served in many civic organizations like Berges Fest, Rotary, Kendall County Bar Association and numerous school boards and nonprofits. 

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel Wayne Hix and Delores Deas Davis; his brother, Herschel Wayne “Humphrey” Hix; and brother-in-law Steve Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Martha Elizabeth Hix; daughter Lindsey Elizabeth McEachern and husband Greg of Waco; his son, Jordan Andrew Hix and fiancé Lisa Alvarez of Dallas; and his grandchildren, Addyson, Caleb and Emma Grace of Waco. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Hix and wife Debbie of Tallahassee, Florida; sister Barbara Karen “Sweetie Pie” Roberts of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law Ray Jordan and his wife, Pam; sister-in-law Marilyn Feinberg and husband Jerome; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

There will be a visitation with the family on Monday, August 23, 2021, at 5 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 2 p.m. Both the visitation and funeral will be held at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home.
