Betty Ann Hensley

Betty Ann Hensley of Boerne, Texas passed away peacefully on August 3, 2020. She was born on November 29, 1933 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Elie and Corinne Hernandez Judice.


Following private services, Mrs. Hensley will be buried with her husband, Edward Lee Hensley, Sr., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.


Mrs. Hensley earned the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science Degree from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, graduating with Highest Honors. She retired from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where she worked in the President’s Office. She was a parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Boerne. A prolific writer and family historian, she is greatly loved and dearly missed.


She is survived by her children, Susan Hensley, Edward Hensley, Jr., Benjamin Hensley (Laura), and Lisa Hutsell (Bryan); her grandchildren, Brad Wilson (Misty), Laurie Jeffrey, Heather Valcik (Jerad), Kevin Hensley (Kali), Holden Hensley, Kurt Hensley, and Alan Hutsell; her great-grandchildren, Bailey Wilson, Ireland Jeffrey, Shelby Wilson, Olivia Valcik, Kyle Hensley, and Jolie Valcik; and her siblings, Mary Langlinais, Clyde Judice (Shirley), and Patsy Thibodeaux.


She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings, Loretta Mae Judice and Thelma Landry.


The family would like to express their gratitude towards Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in San Antonio, and Kendall House, Morningside Ministries in Boerne.


In lieu of floral remembrances, the family suggests that donations be made to the ALS Association ( to honor Mrs. Hensley’s memory.
