Bilie Jean Tindle

June 1, 1929 – April 22, 2021

Billie Jean Tindle went home to be with Jesus and to be reunited with her loving husband on April 22, 2021. Billie Jean was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Mable and J.W. Eggleston on June 1, 1929. She was the second of their five children. She graduated from Paschal High School and Brantley-Draughon Business College in Ft. Worth.

Billie Jean met her sweetheart, Sherman Douglas Tindle, at the bus stop in front of his sister’s house where he was staying. She caught the bus there every day to go to work. His brother-in-law told him, “That is a very beautiful girl! You need to go out there and catch that bus so you can meet her!” He did, they married shortly after, and ended up in Corpus Christi after being

transferred there with his job.

She was the most loving wife and mother! She never learned to drive and was known for riding her bicycle to the store, to church, to the bank and all around town. But she will be most remembered for sharing Jesus with everyone she met and instilling strong Christian values into her daughter and granddaughter.

Billie Jean is survived by her only child, Sharon Clingman, and only grandchild, Ashley Clingman, of Boerne, Texas; her sister, Kathy Williams of McKinney, Texas; brother J.W. “Bud” Eggleston of Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Sherman; her parents; brother Jim Eggleston; and brother Ernie Eggleston.

A short graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Seaside Memorial in Corpus Christi, Texas, at 2:30 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made in her memory to Medina Children’s Home/Arms of Hope at 6776 Ingram Road, San Antonio, TX 78238 or or to the Alzheimer’s Association at

A very special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Morningside at Menger Springs-Cibolo House, Memory Care Unit 100 for always taking such excellent care of her!
