Harry James Klar

Harry James Klar passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, in Boerne, Texas, at the age of 93.
Harry was born July 21, 1927, in Boerne, Texas, to Bruno and Hedwig (Simon) Klar. He was the oldest of three children. Harry graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1945. He married the love of his life, Theresa Agnes Moczygemba, on July 30, 1960, in Kosciusko, Texas.
Harry grew up in Bulverde, Texas, helping on the family ranch. He enjoyed and continued ranching until his mid-80s. A devout Catholic, he was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Honey Creek.
Harry will be fondly remembered by family, friends and neighbors for his numerous hours of volunteer work, teaching the youth to be “good stewards” of the land and his natural gardening talent. A U.S. Army veteran, Harry proudly served his country during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Reuben Klar. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Theresa; his five daughters, Donna (David) Inman, Dripping Springs, Laurette Klar, Boerne, Harriette (Tony) Frels, San Antonio, Elaine (Hank) Rogers, Fairway, Kansas, and Beatrice (Mike) Casey, Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren Kate (Brad) Beless, Hannah Frels (fiancé Mark Leppla), Emma Frels, Abby (Jacob) Buckley, Olivia Rogers, John Rogers, Aidan Casey, Connor Casey and Fiona Casey; great grandchildren Asher, Michael and Caleb Beless; sister Emmeline Whitworth, Boerne; sister-in-law Martha Klar, Bulverde; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at St Joseph Catholic Church-Honey Creek, 25781 Highway 46, Spring Branch, TX 78070 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Honey Creek. Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow the Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery.
